Last year’s winners Tony Bardy and Reg Smith head the field for the two-day event in their Nissan Sunny GTiR, with thousands of spectators expected for the biggest rallying event in the North of England.
The event has new headquarters at the Norbreck Castle Hotel, following hte closure of Pontins, and organisers are making full use of the venue’s Norcalymplia Exhibition Area to provide added spectator attractions. The ‘Rally Village’ opens on Friday afternoon for scrutineering and driver interviews.
The season of large discounts for new cars, which were in the Russian market during the first half of 2009, seems to come to its end. Such conclusion can be made after studying the analysis of the price policy of participants of the Russian car market, carried out by the analytical agency “AUTOSTAT” in the second half of August and presented in the next monthly review.
On data of the analytic agency “AUTOSTAT”, during the first half of 2009 there were sold nearly 51 thsd of LCV at the Russian market, which is by 54% less than for same period of the last year (109 thsd units). Sales of LCV of Russian brands fell by 61% to 31 thsd units, the realization of foreign cars in the segment of LCV decreased by one third (33%) to 20 thsd units.
